Yamaha Motor India launched the YZF-R3 last year at a comparatively higher price tag than expected, now the iconic Japanese automaker is gearing up for another launch in the upcoming year of what seems to be the new FZ250/200. It has been spied quite a few times now and the same is expected to hit the Indian street by late January.
As seen from the pictures, the bike utilizes an air-cooled engine, upgraded FZ styling with beefed up tank and aggressive new design and a wider tyre the back. To keep the price under check the bike shares many components with the existing FZ bike such as the discs, foot pegs, number plate holder etc.
We can expect a higher power and torque output figures from the new bike that will be a straight competitor to the new Apache RTR 200 4V and the upcoming 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS. The engine displacement number is yet not confirmed but expect around 20bhp of maximum power from a 200c engine on the FZ and if it’s a quarter-litre unit expect 2bhp more.
As per reports on the rushlane.com the bike is expected to be launched on 24th January 2017 which is officially not confirmed. Stay tuned to Autocargurus for more updates.
