GoPro Hero5 launched in India, gets battery from same supplier as exploding Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Motographers rejoice! The famous action camera company, GoPro has launched its all new Hero5 series of action cameras in India. The Hero5 cameras come in two variants including Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session. The latter is lower end variant which is priced at Rs 29,500 on the other hand, the Hero5 Black is the premium one among the duo which costs Rs 38,000. The new Hero5 cameras are fully capable of auto-uploading video and snapshots to GoPro Plus. For those who don’t know, GoPro Plus is a cloud-based subscription service which lets you access, edit and share the camera’s data via a phone or a system.

Like other GoPro cameras, the Hero5 are waterproof up to 10 meters even without any separate housing. Apart from that, these cameras are voice control enabled with the support of seven languages. They also have image stabilization for better clarity and batteries on the camera are now supplied by SDI. Interestingly, SDI is the same company which has supplied batteries to the exploding Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Previously, GoPro partnered with Reliance Digital for the official Indian launch of the cameras.

  • RAW and WDR Photo Modes supported

The GoPro Hero5 Session also offers 4K video recording at 30fps but clicks photographs at 10MP. Also, it does not have a touch display.
