The Yamaha YZF-R15 has been one of the most famous beginner segment sports bikes present in the Indian market. Since its launch, the bike has been upgraded only for a single time that was back in the year 2012. Currently, the Yamaha R15 Version 2 is sold alongside the Yamaha R15 S in the Indian market.
Now a new facelift YZF-R15 has been spied at a Yamaha dealership in Thailand. The spy shots do not reveal much of the information about the new R15 but it is clear that the bike will receive a new body fairing. The redesigned front headlights now look inspired from its higher cc cousins, the YZF-R25 and YZF-R3. The front has now grown significantly sharper and more aggressive than ever.
Apart from the front, the bike can also be seen with a different tail-end as well. While on the inside, the bike might be powered from an all-new 155cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder producing higher power and torque than the on-going version. The power figures can now be bumped from 17-18bhp to 20-21bhp, while the 6-speed manual transmission will remain the same. The bike can also be seen equipped with ABS this time while the engine will expectedly be BS-4 compliant due to stringing emission rules. When launched the Yamaha R15 version 3 will cost around Rs 1.35 lakh in the Indian market.
