Welcome, the new generation Rebel motorcycles by none other than Honda. The company has come up with the 2017 Honda Rebel 300 and 2017 Honda Rebel 500 for the US market. The Rebel brand by Honda has been in the market for a very long time as it was first introduced in 1985. For 2017, the motorcycle has been given an all new styling and power plant in form of a 300cc and 500cc power units.
The 2017 Honda Rebel 300 derives its power by the engine which is also seen on the CBR300. The 286cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine delivering 31bhp on tap. The engine on the 2017 Honda Rebel 500 comes from the CBR500 which makes about 45bhp and 44Nm of peak torque. Talking about the specifications, the bike utilizes the same 41mm telescopic front fork and twin shocks at the rear. ABS is offered as an option on both.
It is very hard to say if Honda Rebel will make it to the Indian motorcycle market. But since Indian market is a mecca for sub 500 muscle bikes, these bikes will do really well against brands like Royal Enfield and UM Motorcycles. Stay tuned to ACG for more.
