7 Upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars in India 2016/2017

Maruti Suzuki, the king among the Indian car manufacturers is the first choice among the car buyers who want to opt for a reliable, efficient and a durable ride. To maintain the lead, the car maker is planning to launch some of the new cars in the market which also includes totally new cars and the facelift of the ongoing cars as well. So we have made a combined comprehensive list of cars that will be launched by Maruti Suzuki in the year 2016 – 2017.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS

The present Baleno has been one of the most famous cars in the Indian car market. Now Maruti is getting prepared to launch the performance inspired version of its famous family hatchback car. The car will receive a 1.0-litre, 3-litre, turbocharged Booster Jet petrol engine that is capable of churning out 110bhp of maximum power and 170Nm torque. The ongoing Baleno is powered by 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine and 1.3-litre DDi diesel engine choices.

The car is expected to be launched in the price bracket of Rs 8.5 Lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh. And March 2017 is the expected month of its launch.


Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

As per the market trends, petrol cars are again becoming the latest talk of the town. The Vitara Brezza is only available in the Diesel avatar and it still manages to sell in a very high number. With the launch of petrol version, the Indo-Japanese car maker will be serving those customers as well who refrained themselves from buying the Brezza just because it’s only available in Diesel.  It is expected that the unit powering the new Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol will be a 1.0-litre Boosterjet Turbocharged engine that will also power is the technical cousin, Baleno RS.

The car is expected to make its official debut by the early 2017 and will be placed in a price bracket of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.


Maruti Ignis 2017

Among the closest upcoming launches by Maruti, Ignis is easily the most awaited cars. It has already been revealed by the company at the gone Autoexpo 2016. When launched in the global markets it will carry a 1.2 liter Dualjet petrol engine tagged with company’s SHVS mild hybrid system for a better efficiency. While for India, it will be powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine that will churn 74bhp of maximum power and also a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 83bhp of power.

It will make it to the Indian market at a price tag lying between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh and will face serious competition from cars such as Mahindra KUV100. The car’s launch is confirmed to the month of January 2017.

Maruti Wagon R MPV

Once launched, the new Wagon R MPV will be slotted between the Eeco and Ertiga MPV. Autocargurus has received a significant number of queries over this car and that explains that it is among one of the most awaited Maruti cars in the country. The Wagon R has been the most loved cars in India and the 7-seater Wagon R will be better for a family car-obsessed country like ours. The car will compete against Datsun Go+ and will be offered with two engine options including 0.8-litre DDiS diesel engine and 1.2-litre K-Series/ 1.0-litre petrol motor that also powers the Alto K10.

It will be launched by late 2017 or early 2018 and will sit in a price bracket of Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh.


Maruti Swift AMT

Apart from Maruti Ignis, the new Swift AMT will be among the closest upcoming launches in India. The Swift has been the most loved hatchback in the country but has never been launched in an AMT avatar. The recent bump in the demand for the AMT cars has forced the Indo-Japanese automaker to launch the automatic variant of the Swift. The car will get the same automated manual gearbox by Magneti Marelli which is also seen in the Dzire sedan. While the engine will remain untouched and the car will draw power from the same 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that delivers 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque.

The car will be launched by the end of 2016 and will be launched in a price bracket of Rs 6 lakh and Rs 7 lakh.


New Generation Swift

The new generation Maruti swift will be upgraded with a whole new design and features. The car will get new hexagonal grille, headlamps, tail lamps, body kit, spoiler and new body lines that will transform the car to a new level. On the inside, the car will receive a moderately revised touchscreen SmartPlay infotainment system along with redesigned steering wheel, and a host of new features. While talking about the engine, the car could come in two engine options including a 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine or Suzuki’s new diesel engine. The car will be lighter than the outgoing Swift as it will be based on the new Baleno’s platform.

New Generation Swift launch date and price

We will get the new generation Swift by late 2017 in a price range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.


New Generation Maruti Swift Dzire

The company previously launched the facelift of the same car earlier this year and is already gearing up for the launch of the new-generation Swift Dzire. Being based on the new generation Swift, it will share all the technical and mechanical details with the same. The car might be offered with dual front airbags as a standard and will be available in both diesel and petrol avatar.

The car will available only by late 2017 at an expected price range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.
