Renault has launched the automatic version of its highly famous small segment budget car, Kwid in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 4.25 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The AMT version of the budget hatchback is christened as Renault Kwid Easy-R AMT. The Easy-R was already seen on the Duster SUV from Renault and is now offered in Kwid. The automated transmission version is almost Rs 30,000 costlier than the highest variant in the Kwid 1.0 and is only offered in the RXT variant of Kwid. The car gets a 5-speed automatic gearbox which is made in house by the Renault team with assistance from Bosch.
On the launch of the Kwid AMT, Sumit Sawhney, CEO and Managing Director, Renault India, said “AMT is becoming truly popular because of the convenience it offers and the company is very happy to offer its famous compact hatchback in the AMT version for India.
