Renault Kaptur SUV to launch in India by mid-2017

The French car maker, Renault has showcased quite a few interesting concepts at the ongoing Sao Motor Show 2016 including the Duster Extreme and the Kwid Outsider concept. On the other hand, it is the new Renault Kaptur which has managed to grab all the attention at the show. The Kaptur will hit Brazilian market soon and later on it is expected to hit the Indian shores by mid-2017. The car will be positioned above the Duster SUV in India even though it shares underpinning with the latter.


Talking about the visuals, the new SUV is packed with C-shaped LED daytime running lamps at the front. It gets stylish diamond-cut 17-inch alloys and has rugged matte cladding on its either sides.

Dimensionally, it measures 4,333mm in length, 1,813mm in width and 1,613mm in height. Compared to the duster it is 18mm longer, 82mm shorter and 9mm narrower. While both shares the same wheelbase which is 2,674mm and its ground clearance sits at 204mm.

The interior of the Kaptur SUV gets more premium cabin space when compared to the Duster. It gets a better cabin design and material while sharing the same 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Duster and Kwid.

The car will head to India with the 1.5-litre diesel engine which is also seen in Duster but certainly, it will be tuned with a different setup. The engine will be offered with a 5-speed and 6-speed manual box, or perhaps a 6-speed Easy-R AMT. also, all-wheel drive version is not expected to make its debut in India.


2017 Renault Kaptur Price

When launched, we expect it to go on sale at a price tag starting at 10 lakh and extending up to Rs 14 lakh.
