The legendary Chennai-based automaker, Royal Enfield is all set to dominate the international market very soon with its latest adventure tourer, the Himalayan. The company will be displaying the Himalayan at the biggest international stage, the 2016 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The company will be displaying the fuel-injected version of the Himalayan instead of the carburetted version which is currently on sale in the Indian market. As per stringent emission norms, Euro 4 will be in practice from January 2017. This indicates that the Chennai-based motorcycle maker has to launch the fuel-injected version of the same in accordance with the emission norms.
Quick look at Himalayan’s specification figures:
The bike derives its power from a 411cc single-cylinder, long stroke engine that is good enough to churn out 24bhp of maximum power and 32Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine has been tuned to deliver stronger torque output right from the low rpm. Expect the fuel-injected version to be smoother in terms of power delivery and producing 1bhp in excess from the present carburetted version.
Stay tuned as AutoCarGurus bring you more updates on the same.
