India’s leading automaker, Tata revealed details on its all-new compact sedan, Tata Kite5 at the Autoexpo 2016. This new compact sedan hasn’t been officially named and so is still referred by its codename, ‘Tata Kite5’. In terms of design language, it has drawn huge inspiration from its sibling hatchback, the Tata Tiago which has been one of the most famous cars by Tata of present times. From the images available the Tata Kite5 looks like one of the most handsome compact sedans and has sure got a praiseworthy design.

The car will be offered with two engines including 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.05-litre, three-cylinder diesel engines as also seen on the Tata Tiago. The car will have a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT version is set to be launched in future.

The car again shares bits from the Tiago hatchback. The car gets a 5-seat comfortable seating layout and a fairly roomy cabin for a compact sedan. The cabin quality is expected to be top notch just like Tata Tiago.

The car manufacturer will place this compact sedan below Zest, which makes it the only car in its segment presently. It will be offered at a price range starting from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. Eventually, it will face competition from cars such as next-gen Chevrolet Beat Essentia sedan, which is set for launch in 2017.
