We do have track and rally races but what’s really missing from the scene is the drag racing culture in India. Going by the same theme, Vroom, a national drag race was organized in Jakkur Airstrip, Bangalore extensively for two days. The drag-race event happened on October 15 and 16 in which participants from all over participated with the best car and bikes of the country. Some of the fastest cars and bike that set the drag strip on fire included Audi TT, Nissan 350Z, Lamborghini Gallardo, Nissan 350Z while in bikes from Kawasaki Ninaj H2, Z800, BMW S1000RR, Suzuki Hayabusa and Yamaha R1, locked horns in this national drag race.
Apart from the drag race, a lot of modified vehicles were on display. More than 500 participants registered for the race while around 5000 spectators made it to the arena to enjoy the thrill of drag racing.
Speaking on the association, Venkatakrishnaiyya P, Business Head, Vista said, “We partnered with Vroom to showcase the quality of Vista products and launch our new, specialty variants. We gave demonstrations of the use of products and 180 participants were given Vista gift hampers. This was a perfect platform for us to connect with auto-enthusiasts and auto-lovers alike.
